School Training Offerings
Accessible Documents 101 will highlight important tools and processes available to ensure your Word documents and PowerPoint presentations are accessible for all students. Accessibility helps learners who use screen readers, are color blind, are deaf, or have cognitive or learning disability impacts. Accessible Documents 101 will help educators at the elementary and secondary level become experts at creating documents that all students can understand and use. This two-hour webinar covers the basics. This no-judgement learning zone will allow you to try making accessible documents and understand presentation features. The cost for this webinar training package is $850.
These are specialty courses offering content to provide deep understanding and practical applications necessary to effectively help people with disabilities reach their vocational goals. These online, asynchronous courses take about 5 hours to complete. The cost for each course is $75 per person. All courses are offered quarterly.

If you are a teacher, guidance counselor, transition coordinator, or school administrator working with students or if you are looking to better understand your own life journey, this in-person training will provide valuable insights, practical applications, meaningful employment outcomes, independent living skills, and educational goals. CCLC staff who have earned a LifeCourse Ambassador credential will equip participants with the knowledge and skills to effectively use LifeCourse tools as transition assessments that navigate and support various life transitions. This training encourages attendees to focus on an identified student or project to work through using the LifeCourse tools. Materials are provided for up to 30 in-person attendees.
- Part One (half-day, in-person): Life Trajectory, Reciprocal Roles
- Part Two (half-day, in-person): Life Domain Vision Tool, Integrated Supports Star, Goal Attainment/Planning and Tracking Success
This training could be offered in a single or two shorter sessions:
- In-person, two half-day (3-hour) training sessions - $3,600
- In-person, one full-day (6-hour) training - $2,700
Paraprofessionals include teaching assistants, job coaches, and other educational staff. In this training, participants will explore the role, responsibilities, skills, and importance of paraprofessionals within the educational setting. This training is ideal for paraprofessionals both new and experienced who support students and teachers in the classroom, community, and/or employment setting. This training could be offered in multiple formats:
- In-person, two half-day (3-hour) training sessions - $3,600
- In-person, one full-day (6-hour) training - $2,700
- Online, three sessions (2-hours each) webinar series is $2,300
Learn more about Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, including the law’s history, purpose, and implementation in programs and services such as health care, public education, and transportation. Participants will leave with a greater understanding of the protections as well as the responsibilities of school staff under Section 504. This 1-hour webinar training is ideal for school counselors and educational staff. The cost for this 1-hour webinar package is $550.
This self-paced course offers a connective framework for secondary educational services resulting in integrated, competitive, postsecondary employment. Educators will access tools and strategies designed to facilitate successful adult vocational transition. Learn to apply principles and best practices within the school environment, in a person-centered, strength-based manner. This training is designed for educators working directly with students in an employment setting. The cost for this training package is $250 per person, and it lasts 8 weeks. This training is offered quarterly.
This training is designed to assist Indiana special education teachers and transition coordinators working directly with students receiving an alternative diploma or certificate of completion. Participants will receive guidance on the purpose, development, and use of Indiana transition portfolios. All four sections of the transition portfolio will be covered along with the needed artifacts for each. This 3-hour training includes work time for teachers to apply their knowledge by developing a transition portfolio and receiving direct feedback from the trainer. This training could be offered in multiple formats:

Explore the foundational elements of the Indiana transition IEP, strategies for alignment with student goals and assessments that support successful postsecondary transitions for students with disabilities. Participants will leave with a greater understanding and numerous resources to write quality narratives within the transition IEP. This 3-hour training is designed for special education teachers, administrators, and transition coordinators who work directly with middle and high school students. This training could be offered in multiple formats:
- Online, 3-hour webinar package - $1,150
- In-person, half day (3-hour) training package - $1,800
This training will show educational professionals how students can use positive personal introductions as a vehicle for the attainment of competitive integrated employment and a means to facilitate community belonging and reach personal goals. This 3-hour training is geared for a national audience and will highlight different transition portfolio examples from across the country. This training could be offered in multiple formats:
- Online, 3-hour webinar package - $1,150
- In-person, half day (3-hour) training package - $1,800
Custom Training Packages
CCLC can develop custom face-to-face training or online webinar training to meet your school or agency’s specific needs. Each custom fee-for-service package includes: (1) a pre-training meeting to identify the specific training needs of your staff and training date(s), (2) training content development to meet the specifications of the format and length selected from the table below, and (3) delivery of the training. Travel fees include Indiana locations. However, interstate travel can be negotiated.
CCLC is not responsible for the purchase of any additional services to ensure accessibility (e.g., ASL interpreter services; braille) for the training. Such expenses are the responsibility of the contracting agency. CCLC will provide large print (upon request), accessible website, screen reader accessible electronic files, and an accessible videoconferencing system with closed captions.
